Lake Ontario's Walleye fishing resource is
nationally recognized as one of the top trophy
walleye fisheries in North America.
In
fact, the 1996 through 2007 editions of
Infisherman's "Walleye Guide" currently list Lake
Ontario among North America's top 20 destinations
for trophy Walleye.
At
the 1994 North America Walleye Anglers (NAWA)
Championship at Henderson Harbor, NY, Rick Olson
bested a field of 41 professional walleye anglers
with a three-day, eight fish catch of 65.88 lbs.
for an incredible average of 8.24 lbs. per
walleye.
On
September 5, 1998, walleye guide Capt. Bob Jordan
and P.W.T. walleye tournament pro Todd Frank won
the Team Walleye New York State Championship with a
5 fish limit of 42.93 lbs.; the largest five fish
one-day catch in New York Team Walleye history!!!
The catch averaged an astounding 8.59 lbs. per
walleye.
Our
actual charter records for 1997 through 2006
indicate an average weight of 8 lbs. each
and our Trophy walleye range in size from 10-13
lbs.
But...
larger fish are
always a possibility!
